Thai bank account frozen after crypto or P2P

You sold crypto on P2P or through an exchange, and now the account is frozen. Often the baht came from someone else’s account, or someone further down the chain filed a police complaint. We check how many police cases are on your account, explain your trades to the police and the bank in Thai and follow up within your package.

Why accounts get frozen after crypto or P2P

Most of our clients traded honestly. The problem is usually where the other side’s money came from.

Money from another person

The buyer paid from an account in someone else’s name, so the transfer looks suspicious to the bank.

A police complaint

Someone further down the chain was scammed and filed a complaint. The police can hold every account the money passed through, including yours.

The bank’s own review

Large or frequent exchanges, even through a licensed Thai exchange, can make the bank restrict the account and pass the case to the cyber police.

Many transfers from strangers

Dozens of incoming payments from different people in a short time look like someone renting out their account.

The exchange is blocked too

A crypto exchange may freeze your exchange account and ask for a police document that names it specifically.

Moving your own money

If transfers from your country are limited, P2P may be how you moved your own money. The bank then asks where it came from.

How we unfreeze a crypto or P2P account

Mike has traded crypto and used P2P himself, so we know how to explain an honest trade to an officer who sees many scams.

Step 1

Check all police cases

We check with the bank and the cyber police who froze the account and whether there is more than one police case.

Step 2

Put the trades in order

We collect your P2P orders, chats and exchange statements, and point out what doesn’t match before the officer sees it.

Step 3

Police statement

We go with you to the police station or the cyber police, explain the trades in Thai and get the release letter. If the exchange needs a document naming it, we ask the officer for that too.

Step 4

Bank and source of funds

We take the release to the bank, show where your money came from and follow up for up to 30 days within your package.

Police case in another province

The account was blocked after P2P trades, and the crypto exchange blocked him too. The case led to a police station in Prachuap Khiri Khan. We went there, asked the officer to name the exchange in the release document, and at the bank showed his pension and rental income.

What to collect now

Chats and order pages can disappear. Save them before you do anything else.

  • Passport and visa
  • The bank printout or what the bank told you
  • P2P order history: dates, amounts and order numbers
  • Chats with each buyer or seller
  • Exchange statements for the same period
  • Proof of how you got the crypto in the first place
  • Proof of income: salary, pension or business

Please don’t send passport or account numbers through the website form, and never send passwords or wallet keys. We will tell you how to send documents safely.

What we can’t promise

  • The officer and the bank make the final decision. Nobody can honestly guarantee it.
  • We don’t take cases involving fraud, illegal funds or sanctions evasion.
  • If a complainant asks for money back, whether to agree is your decision.
  • If the case goes to court, a licensed partner lawyer has to join. This is quoted separately.
  • The bank may close the account even after the hold is lifted.

Questions about crypto and P2P freezes

Why was my account frozen after a P2P trade?
Usually the baht you received came from someone else’s account, or someone in the chain filed a police complaint. The police can then hold every account the money passed through, including honest traders. Sometimes it is the bank’s own review.
I didn’t know the buyer’s money came from a scam. What now?
This happens to honest traders. The officer needs to see that you sold your own crypto at a market price and didn’t know where the buyer’s money came from. Your order history, chats and proof of where the crypto came from are the key evidence. We explain this to the officer in Thai.
The crypto exchange also blocked my account.
An exchange may ask for a police document that names it specifically. In one of our cases the exchange rejected the first letter for this reason, and we asked the officer for the right document.
How long does it take?
In our recent cases, from a few working days to about 2 months. A bank review after exchanges through a licensed Thai exchange can be quicker: in one case, 3 working days of our work and about 7 more working days at the bank. A police station far from Bangkok or several police cases take longer.
Can there be more than one police case?
Yes, especially after many P2P trades. Each case needs its own release. In one of our cases we closed the first case, then found two more through the cyber police and closed them too.
The other side wants money back. What happens?
Sometimes a complainant agrees to withdraw the complaint if part of the money is returned. Whether to agree is only your decision. We explain the options and interpret at the police station. We never pay officials.
How do I avoid this next time?
Trade only with buyers whose payment name matches their verified account, keep your order history and chats, avoid many small transfers from strangers and be ready to show where your crypto came from. Nothing makes a freeze impossible, but this lowers the risk.
Is this legal?
Yes. We work only through official procedures with the bank and the police. We are a registered Thai company, not a law firm. When a case needs legal representation, a licensed Thai lawyer joins it.
